Mid Engine S10 w Ls, Drive Line Questions...
So ones got a S10 and a spare Lq9 and an Auto laying around and wanting to do something out side the box a bit....
Wanting to keep it solid axle for the fun factor and an 8.8 Explorer rear end fits right in there for a minor $200 at the local yard.
Now......main concern is the tight space between the tail shaft of the Trans and the Yoke of the rear end is gonna = a short drive shaft.......
As the rear end goes up and down I can see the potential for bind in u joints and at the worst case actually pulling the slip yoke so far out of the Trans that it wobbles to death or falls out < (Highly unlikely I know)
Somewhere out there has to be a general rule of thumb........
..............for every inch of travel up or down w the rear end (outside of centerline), there should be a min length of driveshaft or gap between the Trans Tail Shaft and Rear End Yoke
Looking for some help w this crazy idea!
