Will S10 8.6 30 spline diff bolt into G Body 8.5? My grand national has its original 28 spline 8.5" 10 bolt.
From what I read the later S10/Blazer went from the 8.5 to the 8.6 and 30 spline axles.
These 30 spline posi differentials are available for not much $$$.
Will one of these bolt into the older 8.5 housing with the right install kit and aftermarket 30 spline axles? This seems like an inexpensive upgrade route for the 8.5

yes the carrier fits with the correct carrier bearings.
I wouldnt waste your time or money on a factory locking diff if going in a high hp application.
I put a factory locking differential out of a 2005 1500 into my 96 1500 and just had to change the carrier bearings.
