Does anyone know about Gears
I am trying to purchase a ported throttle body from shaner throttle bodies and i was asked if my 2000 T/A had a aluminum driveshaft with 3.23 gears or steal driveshaft with 2.72 gears. Im not sure what my car has. Right now its all stock as far as engine modification/induction. My car has an automatic transmission as well if that helps to make my question easier. Any replys would help out thanks.

Look on the inside of your drivers side door for your RPO codes. These are 3 digit codes.Look for GU2-2.73 GU4-3.08 GU5-3.23 GU6-3.42 . One of these codes will be on your car and that is the gear ratio you have.As for your driveshaft you will have to look at that to see what is there. I had a steel driveshaft on my 2001 ss with 3.23s. If it is all rusty looking it is a steel driveshaft and if it is a silver color then you have the aluminum driveshaft.
