I get 18city/26hwy with 4.11 gears. That's with cam, full boltons, and a 9".

I don't think the mileage difference would be that much different. In 6th gear at 75mph there is only a 200rpm difference.

Not bad. 21-2200 rpm @ 70 mph. You'll need a 28" tire if you run it at the track. You'll run out of motor on the stock radials before the end of the 1/4.

M6 with a 4.56 would cruise pretty close to a A4 with a 4.11, which isn't all that bad. City mileage would suffer also, but the car would be very responsive, even in 6th. Any traction problems would be that much worse also. I used to run a 4.56 in an older Malibu I had with a built 200-4r, and it cruised okay and accelerated like hell!

My mileage with the 4.11 is OK, but certainly not as good as stock 3.23.

I switched from 4.11 to 4.56 this year. I drive about everyother day to work in the summer (90 mile round trip). I prefer the driving the 4.56 gears, especially good if you have an aggressive clutch. My commute is split between city and highway, sixth gear compensates fine for the highway.

I used 4.56s in my car for awhile now. I love it on the street. 6th gear is much more useable in the city. With the tall 6th gear, highway mileage didn't change much, if any over the 4:10s.

i drove my 4.56 with my cam for months and i loved it. i went on a few road trips and did lots of city driving. its awsome in traffic casue you can let of the clutch in 1st and not go nearly as fast so you dont have to ride the the clutch(a must for my stage 4) on the interstate i set the cruise at 80mph and turned under 2500rpm still getting about 25mpg.
