What is a good set of gears for a posi rear?

What is a good set of gears for a posi rear? My car has a 12 bolt positraction rear, with 3.55 or 3.07. The built sheet just says "Performance axle" and the rest is covered with some rust from a seat spring so I cannot read it.
Anyways, For a good street / strip car, would 3.73's do fine with a TH350? or would it be a little high on gas? would 3.90's be to high?
