Unhappy Torque Spec.

I was wondering if any of you guys know the torque spec. for the rear pinion? I just changed the seal, and the leak stopped but im not sure what to torque the nut to. And now when I let of the gas and start to slow down when my car is in gear, I hear a winning noise from the rearend.

Did you mark the nut with something so you can tell where to torque it down to? You're supposed to do that before you take it off to replace the seal. I haven't done it yet, but I'm going to do it later this afternoon. If you didn't mark it, I don't know what to tell you since I don't know the torque specs.

BTW, welcome to the site.

You are supposed to tighten the nut untill there is 15 in/lb of rotational torque on the pinion. 20-25 if you have new bearings.
