Default What kind of traction: street tires and 4:10's

I'm about sold on getting 4:10's the only problem is i want to have some form of traction. I'm going to invest in nittos for the track but i cant afford them for everyday tires b/c i drive to much. The tires i have now will hook pretty good on the street, if i launch right they dont spin at all and just bark second. What kind of traction loss would i see if i upped my gearing to 4:10's? thanks, Jim

since you dont have many major MODs the 4.10 shouldnt hurt traction too much, but you will notice a little loss. If you where to get a cam you could 4-get about 1st gear

I went from spinning my tires in 1st gear to SMOKING them all the way thru 3rd gear when I changed from 3.23s to 4.11s, and I have an auto with a stock converter. I also ran 3/10ths faster at the track. (with QTPs)
