Default 3.73's and 5th Gear

Will going from the stock 3.42's to a 3.73 with my stock 16" wheels require a shift into 5th gear before the end of the 1/4?

Unlikely, you will probably be right near the end of 4th gear. Even if you did have to shift into 5th you would still be faster in the 1/4 mile due to the gear change. Oh and also, I thought that the M6 came stock with 3.73's.

The M6's come stock with 3.42's. I just thought I remembered someone saying that they were actually slower with the 3.73's, because they had to shift into 5th just before the end of the 1/4. In other words they weren't in 5th long enough to make any power, just an extra shift to raise their times.
