Default 411 gear break in ?s

how long should i wait after i install my gears to actually get on it hard isnt it like 1500 miles or so? what is the break in procedure for the new gears? any ideas anybody? thank you for your help

You will hear different answers for this. Most will keep revs under about 4000k and mph under ~45mph for the 1st few heat cycles. Drive 1/2 hr, let cool 1-2 hours and repeat. After 500 miles change your fluid, then you're good to go. This is just to be on the safe side. I've heard of guys installing gears and going at it right away without a problem also. When you 1st get gears and they are cold you can be a little more aggressive, but you have to be careful when they heat up. They will heat up alot more when you are breaking them in.

i put my 4.10's in and took it easy for the first 15 miles. let it cool off then beat the **** outa them and they are still fine. only a slight whine but hard to hear at all compared to the old 4.10's also they are richmond so i've heard they tend to be louder
