Default What tool are you all using to set Pinion Preload?

This is my first time setting up gears.
I will be setting up a 12 bolt with a 4.56 gears and using the Ratech solid pinion spacer sleeve.
What tool are you all using to set the Pinion Preload?
For new bearing I need to set it at 25 inch pounds.

Beam or dial type inch lb torque wrench.
Impact wrench
companion flange (yoke) holder, you can maybe rig one
dial calipers (measure shims for spacer)
Brass hammer, pullers to remove stuff over and over
red loctite

I have a related question - I'm setting up a set of 4.30's - when you set the preload to 25 in lbs - is that with the new bearings lubricated or dry ? If lubricated, with what ?

Thanks in advance for the help

Tim

Having an old pinion nut to use isnt bad if you are using a solid spacer with shims. They are crimped nuts, so once you get the shims right, then install the new nut.
