Default Are Richmond gears noisy?

I heard because of the way they're cut, they can be noisy. Any comments?

yes. i tried to put 3.73 in my car a while back and nothing but whine on accel and decel. richmond told me they were having problems with the 98-02 cars.so i switched to motive. bought them from summit racing, and they did refund my money.

yes, richmonds will make some noise... I have a set of Richmond "thick" 4.10s in my 12 bolt with a Detroit Locker (3 series carrier). They do whine some between 50-60, gets better from 60-65, and then disappears above 65.

How about SLP gears? Are they better than stock?

Mine whine at pretty much any speeds except when going real slow. Once I get the exhaust on, I hope to hear a lot less of it. I dont mind the whine, the gears are so nice.
