Default Motives thick vs normal gears???

Are the thick gears worth the extra $120 +/- or what? Wanting to step up to 3.73 or 4.10's but not sure if the thick should get the extra money?

Be careful in that "thick" gears usually mean that you can put them in a series 2 instead of a series 3, as they are thicker only on the shaft, which means you don't need an adapter. The teeth are not thicker, so don't be confused, as they're not any stronger.

I was confused until yesterday on this point, so you're not alone.

Exactly what he said. Thick gears are made for 2 series carriers.
