Question Can I put a 10 bolt w/4 channel in a car w/3 channel?

Time to finally get a 12 bolt for the 01 SS, the rearend is going out in my 98 so I wanted to know how could I do put my 10 bolt in my 98 SS?

My 01 SS has ABS/TC which is 4 channel and my 98 SS doesnt have TC so its 3 channel right? What needs to be done to my ABS/TC 4 channel 10 bolt to go in my 98?

thanks

you can swap them. put the four channel in the 98 with the 3 channel axel's. you abs sensor will not work though and tere's no way to convert the four channel system to three that I know of.you could use the four channel axel's but the have gear drives on the end for abs sensors that you won't need. I currently just blow a four channel rear in my car that doesn't have tc. smoke show's and 10bolt's aren't good combanations.

Mechanically, it will work. You would have the ABS INOP and TCS lights illuminated. I ran that way for ~2 years with no problems.
