4th pass, I heated the nittos properly, staged, launched, hooked and BAM! busted axle. And I drove to the track too Good thing I have friends with trailers
Anyway, time for a 12 bolt, but I don't like adding things to my car that make it slower, So I decided more mods were in order. After 12 bolt, heads, cam, LSX 90mm intake, Nick Williams 90mm throttle body and tune, I was flat broke.

As long as you're on street tires, as in no drag radials, it should last you a long time. Just don't expect to get the jump on many cars as you will be spinning at the beginning of the race.

I just went to the track for the 2nd time ever on a 10 bolt w/ 70,000 miles, maybe 3,000 of them were on nitto drags (315's) and I broke a shaft being easy on the 10 bolt because I knew what would happen w/ a decent launch. O well, just stay away from a drag radial period.

Mine has lived for over a year now. 10-15 track runs all on GSD3's. Just stay away from sticky tires and hard launches and it should hold for awhile. I'm going w a 9" soon so I don't have to worry much longer.

Dude you are okay. I would highly recomand a TA rearend cover, Its a stronger piece than your stock one and lets you hold more fluids inside, it have a fill and drain plugs build onto it so when you try to change the fluids or gears you just have to drain it first and won't make a mess. It also hase two bolts that will reinforce your posi and gear once its installed, less viberation = less likely to break. Besure to look into it its way cheaper than a new 12 bolt rearend and will make your stock rearend stronger and last longer.

Well I have been running 4 series gear in the stock 10bolt for over a year car puts down 377 to the wheels on motor and 100 more on the spray not to mention the torque is surpases the hp on the spray....and torque is what breaks the rear! Oh, and I have been running Nitto DR's for over 3yrs on the street. It truely depends on how you drive the car. Iam also running the TA cover but not the stud kit!

I thought this was never going to be said... wow, ummm... I guess allowing u to drop the car at 6k-rpm's and drop .5 on your 1/4 mile times... make ya slower... Id say play with the 10 bolt til it breaks then get a 12 bolt and have fun with that! Dont waste the money if i doesnt need to be wasted yet!
Goodluck, keep us updated with what u pick!
