Default Will this rear fit?

I have a rearend that is considerably stronger than a 9" but, it has been narrowed 2" shorter than an S-10 on each side. Aren't the S-10 and F-body rears the same? This in theory would work as long as I fabbed up my brackets. I'm getting it for $450

Thanks, Andy

It'd have to be a Dana 60 or better to be stronger than a 9".

But to answer your question, it'd have to be lengthened to 65 1/2" flange-to-flange for a perfect fit to an F-body. They do share the same internal components as an S10, but they are different widths, castings(torque arm mount), etc.

why would you need a dana rear in an fbody unless you are pushing 900+ (which there are some 1200hp fbodies on 9"ers arent there?)

It's not a Dana 60 it's a Chrysler 8-3/4. The good one. Fabbing mounts is no problem, I was jsut wandering about the axles being to short to make it fit.
