Default Another 4.10 gear thread with M6<please look>

Ok I know this topic has been beat to death but I still really havent got the info I was looking for. For all of you that run 4.10 gears with your M6 how are your 1/4 mie times? I have been playing with the calculators and with a 27" tire 6,000 rpm I will top out at 118mph. Which means I wont beable to pull a ET quicker than 12s right? What are your opinions?? Please and Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

118 trap speed = 11 second ET generally (assumming good launch, good driver, etc). You can definitely go faster than 12's, as long as teh car is up to par of course.

Trap speed is just that... how fast you're going across the finish line. Now it stands to reason that if you get UP TO 118mph quicker, you'll have a better ET with the same speed. That's where torque helps, and 4.10s will give you more torque to do that with. As stated, if you wanna keep 4.10s and go faster, you'll have to build your engine to handle some serious rpms.

No reason that you can not cross at 6200 rpm on a stock valvetrain. A lot of people use 6200 shift points with a 6400 rev limiter.
