I was looking to change my stock gear in my T/A to a 3.73, but I don't want to get it tuned till I am ready to do headers. I have a six speed and I was wondering if I don't get it tuned will only my speedo be off and by how much. Any advice on the gear or the tuning would help.

Speedo will be off. Also general rule of thumb is a4-3.73/m6-4.10. Do not worry about the tune. Most shops charge a minimum fee to retune your computer (after the initial tuning). My mechanic retunes mine for 75.00 every visit.

Pick up a cheap Hypertech programmer and you will be all set.You can usually pick them up used for about $75 to $150
