Default What 9" gears

I have bought a moser 9" with 3:70 gears what would some of you suggest stay with 3:70 gear or go with 4:11 or 4:30 car will see alot of 1/8 mile tracks sometimes a 1/4 track and some street duty. (HOT ROD powertour- other shows) Thanks Mods are in sig....

I think it kind of depends on what size tire you are going to run, 4:10's with a 28" tire and a 3spd maybe, but anything smaller might be a little steep. Look up SUX2BU, he runs a pretty steep gear and a TH350/400, but runs like 31 or 33 in tires on the street to keep the rpm's down.

With an A3 you need to run 28's to run 4.10's or bigger, otherwise you'll be doing 4500 down the highway.

I ran 3.50 gears for a long time in my car but I was also making over 700rwhp.

I will be running M/T et radial size 275/40/17. So should I just stay with the 3:70 gear?

I would say go with a 3.70 ratio for your combination since you have no overdrive. You are still going to be in the rpm's since the stall is high.

i'd say keep what you have also. deep cogs and no overdrive sucks !
