Default I'm just not ment to get my car done!!!

I can't believe the problems I've run into changing converters

1:Converter bolt stripped, had to weld a cut allen wrench into it and use a socket and breaker bar, took 3 times as the welds kept breaking, oh yeah also set my hair on fire welding luckily my long locks are still in tact

2:Numerous small cuts on my hands trying to reach every bolt and wiring connector.

3:Tranny would not budge a inch after it was unbolted, spent a while looking and feeling around the bellhousing making sure I didn't forget any bolts. Broke a craftsman screwdriver trying to pry one side loose.

4ealer doesn't have the converter bolts in stock and they're on order should be in today. They even checked the computer to see if any other dealers in the area have any....Nope!!

5ealer never called bolts aren't in....hopefully if God is on my side they'll be in tomorrow so I can drive my car since I'm on vacation this week.....If not.....

Sorry to hear about your mishaps I admire anyone who would try to tackle a job like that in their garage w/o the aid of a lift.

For me it was worth the $250 I paid Speed Inc. to do that job. I used to be a mechanic for 3 years, always getting aggravated, throwing tools around for the $ I was making it wasn't worth it.

I still do the easy stuff, brakes, tune-ups, ect. for side jobs. I drive a truck now(much easier).

BTW: this might get moved(no questions)

Well, good luck and I hope you get it back on the road soon

.. did you get the new style bolts?

The 01 cars have real bolts now.. not just the crappy star head, but a real"nut" style end.

Did you look in the box? I know that Yank includes new converter bolts with their YTP converters.

Yes, I didn't catch what kind of converter it is, but I got new bolts with my Yank ST3500 also.
