Tell me about Gov Loc carriers? Can someone tell alittle about these carriers..I've never heard of them..Im in the market for a new carrier and I saw one of these for sale..

Stay far far away. No lie I've seen about 12 or so of these and every one of them was broken. I have a broken one in the 14 bolt in my '92 dually. GM put them in several different rears.
Usually what breaks is the small gear that locks the clutch, the gear strips. It will then operate like an open differential. It can be run like this for years, it just will never lock.
