Default DS Marks

Got my new DS for my 9" from Scotts Driveline Solutions, great service!

I have a question though, I just put about 10-20 miles on the car, pulled out the DS. about .25" from the end of the input shaft is a small grove going all the way around, i can just catch it with my finger nail

is this anything to worry about? what could cause that?

Post up a pic, is it on the slip yoke or the DS itself?

this first pic is a second mark I found on the input shaft. this one doesn't go around the entire thing, I didn't bump it on anything installing/taking it out, so something must have rubbed against it, its about 2.25" from the tip

this pic is of the original scratch i was talking about, I can also catch this with my fingernail
