47000 mile rear end service
Well my stock 10 bolt is still living well with the stock gears and no girdle cover... I just purchased an AAM girdle and do not know how many quarts or rear end fluid the stock 10 bolt takes. What kind and how much additive/friction modifier should I use per qt of fluid? I'm going with Amsoil SG 75w-140 rear end oil.
Thanks
Thanks

It takes a little less than 2 quarts, check the bottle of the Amsoil gear oil to see if it already comes with the friction modifier. If not, one bottle of GM additive (4 oz. I believe) is enough. What carrier do you have? Torsen or Auburn? If I'm not mistaken, only the Auburn needs the friction modifier, the Torsen does not.

I'm pretty sure its a Torsen, but i'll do the wheel turning trick when its up on the lift just to double check. Amsoil is 100% mineral oil correct? Seems with a Torsen, one can use synthetic or mineral.
