Most I've seen are running non-synthetic 80/90 weight. I've seen posts of 3 and 4 quarts . I'm running 4 quarts of valvoline 80/90 in my 9 inch/trutrac. Although not required, I'm going to swap out the lube after 100 miles or so. I am just going with the crowd on the dino lube until I have some time to research why synthetic is bad for myself.

I was told by a tech at Eaton/Detroit that you want to run 80w90 in a TrueTrac. No need for the additive since it's a gear setup without friction plates.
He also recommended going with dino oil; he said that most of the people calling him to complain about a noisy TrueTrac are running a synthetic like Royal Purple or Redline.
