Really frustrated-9" axle bearing question
Hi guys,
I am assembling a 9" ford. I started with an old housing and ordered moser axles to fit it. The problem I am having is that the axle bearings are sticking out of the housing ends app. 1/8 of an inch. Because of this I can't get the wilwood drag brakes to fit properly. I don't have the 3rd member installed so it is not like the axles are hitting anything.
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

mine came with instructions and a template to take the factory disc brake caliper mounts to a machine shop and have an 1/8" ridged cut out of the back of them so they will fit over the bearing lip that sticks out when they are bolted tight to the rear end housing
but this way about 9-10 years ago with my moser axle,, its still going strong

The bearing should be flush . Measure the width and then measure the recess area in the housing.
Also if you are running a seal in the axle tube , ensure that it is all the way seated and that the press ring is not contacting it and keeping the bearing from seating all the way in to the recessed area.

Thanks for all the help guys. The bearing is in all the way. I was able to get it to work, but I will have to do a little fabricatation.
