Default 1350 u-bolt torque

How tight do the U-bolts for 1350 yoke need to be? Want to finally get everything under the car all tied up today.

heh, just found this post while I was doing a google search. And then remembered I found the spec on Dennys Driveshafts FAQ page last time I had to look it up. It's 20ft-lbs, and they claim that over-torquing is the #1 cause of ujoint failure.

I always go as tight as "feels right" with that small wrench. Don't have to crank on it at all.

I'd heard about cranking down on them too far causing bearing out of roundness and premature failure which is why I posted to begin with, but I ended up just doing what Steve said. Figured a lot of torque wasn't really needed seeing as they don't really have any tensile load applied to them, and the nuts were those out-of-round self-locking type nuts, so I just anti-seized and snugged them up. Thanks for the replies

What's the best tool to get on those bolts? An open ended wrench takes FOREVER! I got a craftsman ratcheting wrench but the top of the head was too tall and I couldn't actually get on the bolt.

I used a ratcheting wrench for 2 or 3 of them. There wasn't quite enough room by the 4th nut, so I just used the open-ended side.
