HELP...9 inch disassembly

The axle is retained by four bolts on the housing ends right? Once the bolts are removed the axle should slide right out? or am I missing something?

they do slide out but sometimes you have to use an axle puller its a rod with a sliding hammer. the bearings sit kinda tight in there.
