T/A girdle and Stud kit instal ??s
I read the thread about the gasket instal, it was helpful. I also ordered the stud kit to replace the carrier bearing cap bolts. Is there a write up on how to do these correctly?
Should I just pull one bearing cap bolt at a time and replace w a stud?
How crutial is torque on these studs, and what is the recommended torgue (you would think they would have directions)?
Anybody do a T/A girdle & arp stud kit together? I won't have to grind the cover like other brands mentioned on here will I?
Any tips and tricks would be appreciated!
Oh, and yeah its the stock 10-bolt.
Thanks

First, torque the studs to 10 ft-lb. Then reinstall the caps and torque the nuts to 60 ft-lb. Use some locktite on the stud threads.
It doesn't matter whether you remove one bolt at a time or do it all together. Just torque down the studs correctly and make sure the bearing caps go back the same way as they come out. Make a mark on the one of the caps so you can identify them correclty.
