Default moser 9" fluid question

i have a moser 9" that i installed last year. I have a couple of hundered miles on it and i have heard that changing the fluid is a good idea.

what do you guys recommend?

also i know that draining it with the plug is not going to remove all of the fluid, but i am guessing it is going to be enough. How much fluid is supposed to go back in the unit after the change?

thanks for your help.

after the break-in period i switched to Lucas 85/140 Gear Oil and it actually quieted down some gear whine i was having in almost every gear, now i can only hear it cruising above 70 in 6th gear.

Edit: I was told by driveline soloutions to use 3 quarts

3 quarts are what you need to buy, although you'll have a little left over. No need for posi additive if you have a Truetrac. Bob

i had heard 3 quarts also, i guess my problem is that since i am leaving the rear-end in the car, i really have no way of seeing how much is inside......is there any way to keep from overfilling? i just want to avoid fluid coming up through the breather line.

pour you first 2 quarts in there. Then kind of take it slowly pouring your 3rd in. And when it starts to seep out of the fill hole you have enough in there. You cant over fill it like that(the fluid will come out of the fill hole).
