i am trying to find out what gears my 98z has in it i think the code is gu6 its a 6sp i am trying to program it

If the code is GU6 it has 3.42s.

That and I am pretty sure all 6 spd cars have the 3.42 gears. Only the A4's have the 3.23 and the 2.73's I think. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I am not sure exactly what you mean by "fine on the highway" but I am guessing you are talking not turning too many revolutions while crusing at 70 MPH. With the 6 spd and 4.10 gears you should be fine on the highway. I can't imagine turning more than 2500 rpm's at 70 mph. This will affect your MPG a little but but shouldn't be all that much really. I say go for the 4.10's.

Edit: Its not even that high. Looks like you would be looking at about 2k rpm's at 70 mph. This chart shows the speed and mph for different gears.
