Exclamation WHAT ARE THE COSTS and differences between a ford 9" and a M9

I think the M9 stands for Moser, but not sure if the Moser 9 is difference from the M9 and Ford 9". My question comes from the fact that a rear end might be in my future and I have no idea what any of this means. Don't want to spend $2,500 on a rear cause I don't really race or drag my car but I don't want to go cheap. So I wanna know whats the best route if my rear blows and how much its gonna cost. I want to keep the Traction Control, and ABS so that means its a 4 channel. Also I am wondering about the rear brakes. Do i just take them off my 7.625 rear now? I'm new to all of this so if you guys could let me know I would appreciate it. Thankshttps://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_confused.gif

a M9 is a fabricated housing 9 inch ford rearend that Moser Engineering sells. it is the highest cost of all the rearends out there in a bolt-in design. it comes with an exclusive solid-mounted torque arm that is not mounted like a stock one. it is designed primarily for race cars.
Moser's standard 9 inch is a stamped replica of a factory 9 inch ford rearend. this is the most common bolt-in rearend in the 9 inch design. you will spend 2500-2600 to get into one with a descent center section and 4 channel abs.
if you are not concerned with racing the car then a 12 bolt or S60 would be a great choice. you can get into one of those for around 2200.00
your stock brakes will work with all of them.

Are you currnetly having problems with your rearend? How much power are you putting down? It may not be necessary to even change the rearend out, especially if your not racing.
