4:10's in the 1/8th
Just wanting to know what speed can you get out of 4:10's in third gear in the 1/8th with stock tires. I usually trap around 85-86, so I am wondering if I need to go up an inch with tire size to stay in 3rd in the 1/8th.

Next time, check the Sticky.
Also what trans you running and what your max rpm is.
I assume a M6 or A4..... and assuming stock sized tire w/ 6,000 rpm redline.

Borg Warner 6sp T-56 Gear Ratios
1st 2.66:1
2nd 1.78:1
3rd 1.30:1
4th 1.00:1
5th 0.74:1
6th 0.50:1

2nd 1.75,
3rd 1.00,
4th 0.70
[b] In A t-56 w/ 4.10's
In 3rd you will hit 86 at exactly 6,000 rpms.
In a 4L60e w/ 4.10s
In 3rd gear it will be hit @ 4,600 rpms.

Just basic bolt-ons right now. Going with a cam and redoing all my valve springs this summer. Cam is going to be around a 230-232 590 590. Since I only trap around 85 now I figure that with the cam I will be trapping a couple of miles an hour faster, and I shouldn't have a problem with 6800 rpm's.
