Moser 9 Inch in a 4th Gen
I have a 02 SS, Thinking about building a 9 inch just so I don't have to worry about blowing up a 10 bolt (Blew up 3 in my LT1 car).
Heres what I was gonna do, Buy the Housing w/o TQ Arm from Moser, 31 spline Axel's. and Buy the 3rd member and everything from my work (I work at a Gear shop Inland Truck Parts). But I also wanna keep my ABS (4 Channel) and I didn't see where to buy the TQ Arm Bracket on Moser's Web-site.
Also can I keep my stock Driveline? Or do you have to mod it?
I'm sure Ill think of more questions, just wanna get all my info together before spending money

You can keep your stock drive shaft but you need a 1350 conversion u-joint.
I would suggest a new Strange 3" chromoly one from Eric at Midwest. Very nice unit and comes with 1350 yokes and sealed u-joints. Good for 800 hp or more. Its the one I am useing and it was $295 shipped. I got it within a week of ordering. You are allready spending some decent money on the rear. Might as well get some cheap insurance. Then sell your stock aluminum to a LT-1 guy like I did to recoup some of your money.
I believe the torque arm bracket comes with the houseing and is included in the price.

The Tq arm bracket is included with the housing. Moser does NOT sell these separate from the housing.
We offer a 3.5" alum shaft, but a 3" chromoly is plenty as well.
You will want to upgrade your tq arm while your in there, the stocker is not worth its weight in scrap. It will flex and possibly bend causing larger issues.

$1000.00 shipped, hundreds of dollars less than going directly through Moser. Bob

No, but the link that I supplied has all the available options. ABS without traction control is not an option on the housing/axle package unless you get a Moser center section with Moser's ABS option, as Moser installs a reluctor ring in there to make it work. Bob

Yes, you can reuse your stock sway bar. The cheapest way to do so is to pick up two 3.00" exhaust clamps. Use the U part of it with your factory lower portion of the sway bar bracket. You will need to oblong the holes out slightly on the bottom brackets, but it works for us. Bob

The stock U Joint on your 10 bolt is smaller than a 1330. The Napa 240-0447X is what we use when using a center section with a 1350 yoke. If you are going with a junk yard center section then you'll need a conversion joint to make it work with your driveshaft, the yoke will be smaller than a 1350 though. Bob

So how hard is it to take the ABS Rings off the Factory Axle? I suppose there pressed on? Also when you do get them off do you just slide them back on the 9inch Axle?
