Default LT1 rear work in LS1?
My friend has a rear from a 97Z with 3:42's, is it the same as a LS1 rear?

Just make sure it is the same series carrier and channel brake system

If yours is a 4 channel rear then you'll need to swap your axles and backing plates over, but other than that it should work.
