Default Lifespan of an aftermarket gear set.

I have a Moser 12 with a 4,56 in it.

When new I could barely rotate the DS without touching the pinnion and causing the wheels to spin. Now it seems like I can rotate 25-30 degrees by hand with the car on the lift. The backlash has increased but it is not anywhere as bad as my 10 bolt got. The 10 bolt used to bump/engage before moving forward. Moser still feels nice.

I have about 20 000 miles on the 4,56. I took it cross country. For awhile the rear end was about a third of a quart low. I do not believe the gearset got overheated.

What do you think my expected life span is? Or was this just break in wear and it will last for a long time....

I want to change gears anyways. Just forecasting here. I have heard that a 4,56 won't last long due to the high speeds.

100,000 miles easy on normal driving. Pull the cover and take a picture of the teeth so we can see the wear pattern. Parts tell the story.
