Default 3.42 to 4.10 gear swap problems

swaping the gears in an 00 SS 6speed 10 bolt 7.5". I got factory GM 4.10 gears to put in, had everything set up, and it turns out that the block plate that holds the limited slip gears in place (takes place of the pin that holds spider gears) doesn't have enough clearance to come out so i can put the c clips back on. (hits the now thicker ring gear) where do i get one to fit?? or is there something else i need to do? Thanks

You got the wrong set. That one is made for a different carrier, probably for 10 bolts w/ 3.23's or lower. Had the same thing happen to me when I let my dad order the gears for me years ago.

ordered the gears for a 3 series carrier, which is 3.23 and up....unless they shipped the wrong one, i'll have to look at it again to see, the 4.10 ring gear HAS to be thicker in oder to contact the now smaller pinion gear, i just can't get the block plate out anymore, like 2mm of clearance is all i need! Worst case the car sits for a week or so waiting for new gears and i loose money, lol.

the center paddle has to be ground down a little or spend $180 from slp to convert it to a 4 series carrier.

You need a two piece block for the Torsen, this way you can put one piece in at a time.
