9" Ford issue
Not sure what I'm doing with this thing. Had new bearings/seals installed on my 31-spline moser axles for my 9" in my 67 and went to install them. Everything seems smooth until I tighten down the retainer plates on both sides and i almost cannot turn the damn axle by hand. If I loosen them up, obviously it loosens up. They're A20 bearings, and I'm not sure what the hell I'm doing wrong. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Depending on which differential you have, the end of the splines are running into either the cross pin or a spacer block inside of the differential. You will need to grind off about 3/16 per axle and double check.

Damn, that's a way to make me uncomfortable. I know jack about rear ends for the most part, and I bought this thing ready to assemble. Is there a way to check the length of the axles to be right on going into the carrier? I can still turn the rear end, it's just tough as hell, and doesn't feel normal.
