Woman Steals Panther Edition Camaro Worth $95,000

Every few seconds here in America, a car is stolen. While the most commonly stolen cars are pedestrian vehicles like the Honda Civic or Dodge Charger, plenty of thieves have an eye for American muscle. But stealing a modern car isn’t exactly easy, and stealing such a car right off of the dealership lot is even harder. Or at least you would think so.

KTVN News out of Reno, Nevada is reporting that a 2012 Camaro “Panther Edition” valued at $95,000 was stolen when the check the woman gave to the dealership bounced a few days later. Well, that’s one way of getting a new Camaro…

The report states that a woman entered Champion Chevrolet with a male accomplice and gave the salespeople an approved online credit application. She then reportedly cut a check for an undisclosed amount that bounced a few days later. Turns out the ID she gave the dealership was fake, though the woman is described as black, about 5-feet 6 -inches tall, and weighing around 140 pounds.

The Panther Edition Camaro boasts up to 700 horsepower, a custom body kit, and a vast array of suspension improvements that help push the price close to six figures. Whoever decided to steal this car was obviously pretty sophisticated, and knew exactly what they were looking for. That said, how they plan on reselling their ill-gotten vehicle is one question police have got to be asking themselves.

But with a four day lead, these couple of crooks could be halfway around the world in their sweet new Camaro by now. Anyone having information relating to this crime should contact the Reno Police Department at 334-2115, Secret Witness at 322-4900. There is a $1,000 reward for the capture of the Camaro crooks.

As I pointed out in the thread you originally posted: This car was driven to one of the ports in California and put in a shipping container. It is already on its way to a collecter overseas somewhere. Cars like this allready have a buyer when they are stolen.
