Default What's the better deal Vette LS3 or Caddy L92

I am doing a pro-mod a-body resto. I can purchase an LS3 vette motor with 2,000 miles or an L92 2009 Caddy Escalade motor with 12,000 miles. I plan on doing some port work on the heads along with springs and a cam which ever motor I choose. If I choose the L92 I will be changing the intake to an LS3. I do not plan getting a big cam.

So which one is the better deal if the LS3 is $2,000 more?

He's referring to the motors not the actual car.

If weight is not a big issue than go with the L92. Otherwise go with the aluminum block.

l92 is also an aluminum block the only difference is the ls3 comes with lighter valves and no VVT. However if your doing a camp swap on the engiens the vvt cam and matching lifters and timing components will be changed with either engine so get the l91 and just either get rid of vvt or find a good tuner. both engine are the same do the l922 and save some cash
