Acceleration lag
I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I'll try it here first.
My 99 TA has been feeling kinda in-consistent lately, in terms of acceleration. Some times I barely have to go 1/4 throttle and the thing takes off like 300+ horsepower should, but other times its as if it has like half the power it should.
The motor doesnt have any odd knocks or ticks, and I always run 93 octane in it. It's an M6 if it matters.
Any ideas why it could be lagging like that? , anyone have/had the same issue? It's hard for me to be descriptive but any help you guys could give me would be appreciated.

Its in the correct gear, I downshift at around 1500 so it usually doesnt go below that. I only usually get on the throttle taking off from a stop in 1st gear or i'm I'm cruising, which is usually around 2000 rpms. I notice it alot going onto highway ramps, sometimes it will feel like a whole different car depending on if it picks up or not.
Motor's got 115k on it. Nothing majorly wrong with it that I know of at any point in time.

What rpm and gear do you feel the lag? If it's anywhere up to 3k rpm in 3rd or 4th you're just not in the correct gear and the car simply won't pull as hard as 3k rpm in 1st or 2nd. Just want to make sure you ARE in the right gear because reading your post sounds like you arent.....

It actually feels like it lags after around 3k in first gear, sometimes 2nd. 3rd and 4th gear I can usually feel the low end torque around 3k but it feels like my 84 Trans Am used to sometimes, like its running out of breath after 3/3500 rpms.
It only makes me wonder because sometimes it will really pick up and others times, even at the same rpms, it will feel sluggish. I havent cleaned out my MAF sensor since I bought the car in May, I've heard that could help.
