Is it possible to put a HP limiter on a 02 SS?
I have an 02 SS with a cam, headers etc and once in a while I let other people drive my car or co-drive it in an autocross. It can be a hand full to an inexperienced driver so I was wondering is there a way I could rig up a switch or something to I can easily dial it back to about 3/4 HP when someone else drives?

To the OP. Drill a hole thru the throttle bump stop, tap some threads and install a set screw. Adjust it so the throttle only opens to 75%.

Sure you can, just set the rev limited to like 4500 and boom you have a lot less horsepower seeing as how your engine probably makes all of it's power in the high 5000 range.
Or if you want to really reduce the power, set the timing really low and make it rich. Along with the lower rev limited you can have a ***** of a car.

Thanks guys this is very helpful.
Dutinss you are right it's not the best idea to let others drive my car. Autox is a great way for them to forget about life for a day and for the younger guys spend time with a man that actually gives a rip about them.
When Frost did my tune I asked him to dial back my rev limiter to 6000 but he only went to 6500. So I have a very bright shift light that comes on at 5800 and a red one at 6300 and that helps.
I really like CherrySS suggestion to put a up stop on the throttle. I'm going to make a little clap or find a really small bar clap that will clamp on that tab on the throttle body. It shouldn't take much to whip up something I can easily snap on and off that will stay put on the track. What a great idea CherrySS!
Thanks again everyone. I really appreciate it.

rig something mechanical. that limits the throttle blade to only open a certain % of wot.
if was me. i would make a throttle bore restrictor plate behind the tb.
made from phenolic. kind of like the tb spacers.
but the bore only has 50%. even if the throttle is open 100%. it only sees half the airflow just enough area for the blade to swing and clear.
it should restrict the engine pretty good.
easy to install and make.
.5 or .75 piece of phenolic plastic sheet. or other stiff plastic sheet.
3in bore holesaw. but only to mark the bore outline. center the bore.then cut out the bore in a D or half moon shape.
drill with 5/16 or 3/8 drill bit for 3 bolt pattern.
some gasket paper. for tb to phenolic ( i have used roofing felt to make tb gaskets before and it works.)
(3).5 or .75 longer throttle body bolts.
should work good, easy to install and remove at the track.
