Head light noise '99 T/A
Have a '99 Trans Am the right headlight works but make noise when it closes, sounds like motor keeps running about 15 seconds after it comes down. Only had the T/a a short time so I don't know much about the lights thanks

You have a stripped dear. DONT buy another motor that's going to do it again. Go to eBay or I think one of the vendors on here has them and buy brass gears for it. They'll never go out again

The end is near for that gear in there
I hope you can do the repair yourself. Mine went out in my old Formula. I could not do the repair myself and asked the dealer how much they wanted. When they gave me a quote for $300+ I found a mechanically inclined neighbor that did it for $50. Whew!!

Fixing it isn't very hard at all. I'm sure you can find a detailed write up on here somewhere, just search.

He sells brass gears, as well as hard anodized aluminum. The brass is a little pricier because of the cost of copper. The aluminum kit is $40, comes with the rubber bumpers and gears for both sides. I would just buy the aluminum, he gurantees it will last for as long as you own your car.
