Default How tool is too tall for an LSX Camaro/Firebird

This is an odd topic/question. I had an LT1 M6 for a long time; sold it about 2 years ago. I am looking to get another weekend toy to play with. I am thinking about stepping up to the LS1 this time around. I know from test driving an A4 LS1 car a long time ago that the interior room is not great. I am 6'7" tall; do you think I will have enough room to shift an LSX camaro/firebird, or am I stuck going back to the LTX cars? Thought I would throw this question out and see what you guys thought...

Thanks,

Brian

rocky, i'm 6,3 and a half @ 278lbs and i fit i can even straighten my legs out. thats why i stuck with a camaro gotta lean the seat back though and i feel like i'm sitting on the ground. but sitting in a 4th gen is like sitting in the cockpit of a jet fighter as compared to the new mustang like sitting in a church pew! haha!! i think you'll be fine. thats the reason i don't have a vette. i don't fit . good luck on your search... the oldman...

I'm not sure why you would think that an LT1 F-body would have any more room than an LS1 F-body. The entire interior is interchangeable, all the dementions are effectively the same.

I'm 6'10 and it's fine for me, just have to get the seat and steering wheel adjusted right.

I'm 6'6" and have a good 2 inches of head room in my vert. Had a '98 Eldorado, my head was touching the roof.

And I agree, you shouldn't have any more/less room going from an LT1 to LS1 car.

6'7" here, no head room problems at all, seat is 4" from all the way back and not reclined at all

I have more headroom with the ttops vs my old hardtop though

I think the LSX dash comes down lower by the steering wheel or something; and that is where the leg room is comprimised?? But if you all are not having any issues; that is definately reassuring to me....

Thanks,

Brian.

I'm 6'3.5, 260, and I fit just fine sitting in the proper driving position with a helmet on. You'll be fine if you get a T-top car.

Thanks,

I'm not sure which dash you have in mind. The Camaro dash was a bit different in '93-'96, but the '97 was still an LT1 car....and the dash in it was the same from '97-'02. As for the Firebirds/TAs, those dashes remained basically unchanged from '93-'02.
