fuel pumps higher than sump

fuel pumps higher than sump im running twin walbro inline pumps but , due to details of the install , i really need to come up about 6 inches higher than the bottom of the sump with the pumps...
is this ok? if i run down to a fuel level below the level of the pumps will i risk starvation????
