Help with financing an LS1

My advice is to start banking elsewhere, like a local credit union and build a good financial relationship.

Hi from across the river in CB! I would think a credit union would be your best bet. Obviously if there is one that you already have a history with try them first. I financed ~10k of my Wrangler with SAC recently and they seemed to be pretty loose on terms (beating other lenders, weren't overly concerned with the year, etc...) might be worth swinging in and chatting with a loan officer. Their HQ is on 370.

Another vote for a credit union. I financed that much on my 99 through ncsecu and they where awesome and super personal, told me what they would finance on car loan, and then said if I wanted I could go above that on a personal loan. Took about 30 min total to get approved, they also offer auto insurance if you have a loan through them.

In a lot of places where a big bank won't touch a local credit union will be there for you.
