First LSx car, V2 or C6 Z06?
It's odd, I know. I have been a member here for about 10 years and still have yet to own an LS anything. But I will be in the market soon for one of the above vehicles. And I was interested in which you guys prefer and why. I am looking for ease of mod, practicality, appearance upgrades, ease of repair/mod ( I do all my own work) and so on. I will probably track the car some. Both road course and drag. I would really like th opinions of those who have experienced both cars too. And perhaps leads for available vehicles and sources to find them. Thanks!
p.s. I am trying to stay on or below the $35k mark. I had originally planned on a G8 GXP until I realized the Cad and the Vette could be had in the same price range.

The vette is lighter so it should be easier to make gains.
Ease of mods/repairs probably the V but I haven't worked on either just knowing the way the drivetrain is laid out in/under the vette I would think its more difficult to mod/repair - others with real world experience may provide info that makes my pre conceived notions wrong.
The Z06 was the halo vehicle so top dog for GM , I would go that route unless your practicality needs involve moving more than 2 people , having trunk/cargo capacity , frequent use on unimproved road surfaces and winter weather driving....

They're both great cars but are very different in what they offer -- ultimately it comes down to personal preference.
The V offers comfort, convenience and you can get to 600-620 rwhp with relative ease.
The Z is extremely capable in stock trim on the track and would be very easy to build N/A to get to 550+ rwhp. Another note -- if you're more track oriented than street oriented, the V will never offer the same "rails" experience on a road course. Yes, the V is a very capable car on the track too, however the weight advantage and balance of the Corvette is not insignificant.

The C6Z's are tough to find around here for under $40k with low miles. With the price you listed you are probably looking at an 06/07 car. Another option would be to buy a low mile ls3 car and add boost.
