Busted up the front end of my 99 ls1 pretty well. Haven't had luck finding a low cost v8 roller so was curious if its worth getting a fairly low cost v6 (roller or otherwise) and doing a full swap over?

If you don't mind the extra work then go for it. Personally I would go the cheaper way

I would just look for another LS1 Fbody. A lot needs to be changed over.

I would do it. even if your K-member is messed up I see them all the time on craigslist under $100 bucks. you will save $$$ on insurance in the long run lol. there's a lot of nice, cheap, and clean 6 cylinder firebirds out there! I'd look for a hardtop!

Go with the v6 that's what I did and save a lot of money going that route

Like others have said, it'd be a fair share of work, but if you've got the time and know-how, sure. I'd personally just wait for a v8 roller.

It's really not that bad to swap everything over. If your afraid to turn a few wrenches 4th gen F-body's probably aren't what you should be driving anyways.
