Age range that drive these cars

Awesome replies and great to see how owners of all ages still love these cars, and car enthusiasts still appreciate a good clean example.
I was 20 in 2000 when I bought mine - August 8th, it had 3256kms on the clock and I couldn't have been happier. Don't ever plan on selling it, just passing it down.
I'm 36 now and bought my Vette 4 years ago. My Camaro has been down for longer than I'd like to admit for mods, but I am planning on having it running by the end of next month, and hopefully get it on the dyno in early summer. Can't wait to cruise with the T-tops off and mooolay flowing freely while the AC/DC is cranked on the Monsoon CD player
Edit: There should be a Poll done every so often here on tech to see if there majority ownership age category is changing and to where. I think now that most who wanted one in high school either have one or have moved on, and that prices have bottomed out and the young guys are moving to newer platforms, it would be interesting to see the demographics.

I bought mine when I was 17. 26 now.
I used to see a 99 anniversary edition Trans Am outside my school from 4th-6th grade. I wanted one ever since. I found my current Trans Am online when I was in 11th grade. I told my dad that I found a Trans Am I wanted to buy, but it was 2 states away. He was all for it, so we called, went there to look at it and brought it home.
My dad drives my car sometimes. He is 53.

Got my first one when I was 17, got my current one at 19 and now I'm 22. Always wanted an F-Body growing up, I don't think I'm ever selling the one I have. The only other F-Body I strongly want would be a garage queen '96 or '97 SS or WS6 M6 someday.

57 here and own a 99 WS6 that I and have owned about 4 years. Had a 99 Z28 before that. I have owned lots of other camaro and firebirds and a 72 GT0 but none of them were as fun to drive as the 4th gens. Perfect balance of weight/power and get decent gas mileage. The M6 always keeps you in the power band.

I think if you were in highschool between the years of 1998-2002 that would be your average age of ownership these days. Which imo and from what I see holds true and would put the average age ruffly 28-35 years old.
I am 33 by the way.
With that being said the way younger crowd, 18-24, still love them and at my local parking lot gatherings I also see guys 40+ enjoying these cars.
My uncle is about 55 years old and drives a bone stock black 99 ws6 like it was his last day of highschool.

I'm 42, have wanted a 4th gen since the time I got to drive an LT1 car back in 1995. Later, I remember seeing the Pontiac commercials for the Ram Air Trans Am's and seeing people driving new at the time SS Camaro's. I wasn't in a position to get one then, and have a beater for NY winters. I finally got mine in 2012 and don't plan on letting it go anytime soon.

I bought the Camaro during a midlife crisis when I was 51. At 64 I still luv it. There are four other Pewter Camaro's in my area and three are still stock and driven by late 60's to mid 70's year olds.

I started with 3rd gens at 15 or 16 years old, I got my first 4th gen at 22. I'm on my third 3rd gen - a 1990 Formula, and still have my LS swapped 19189. And I just got my fourth 4th gen at 28, a 2000 Trans Am, I still have my DD a 2002 Z28 that was totaled when a drunk hit my dad I modded that and rebuilt it. Despite its' life, it is still the most reliable car I've ever owned.

Hi I'm new here. I'm just starting to look and purchase a Firebird/Trans Am. Had a Firebird back in the 80s and now I am looking at buying one of the later style models from 93 to 02. Anyway, my question is, are most of you younger that are driving these cars? When I say younger it would mean teens to 30s. Older would be 40 and up...I'm 51yrs old.

Bought my c5 Ls1 last year at 24. Plenty of people all ages have LS motor cars in my town. But not many have Vettes except older guys and some middle aged women. Hate the stigma that comes with vettes haha! I just wanted an affordable platform that could make power and turn! Haha

26 and I've had 2 f-bodys, my first car was a 3rd gen, and I've had this one since I was 21. I''ve put a ton of time and money into this one so it won't be going anywhere soon. I don't see too many 4th gens around where I am, and the majority of the ones I do see are all beat up.

I mostly see younger kids ages 16-25 driving them. I've personally owned 7 F-bodies and I'm almost 40. I have been made fun of by some teenagers for driving my WS6 to Walgreen's and around town (mostly look at the sad old guy trying to be cool etc..). I've even had buddies say I must be rocking a tiny dick (WTF) because I love fast cars. I guess it's a crime to be 40+ and drive a sports car that's popular with High School kids.
On the other hand I get way more **** when I drive my 02 Boxster S.

Every friend I have is involved in the car hobby one way or another, so I can't relate to this one either. I guess it's hard for some people to understand our passion for certain cars/types of cars but, regardless of dick size, everyone loves something that may or may not make sense to someone else.

Yeah, I have to agree with all of this. I've never ran into anyone trying to say any of those things to me either. I've said it before, but car guys see no age, and I also think maybe your friends aren't comprehending the passion that car guys have for cars.
I would like to think that most people by the age of 40 can afford something more than an fbody, so I think I would find a newer vehicle if I were trying to be "cool". Not that I don't like my fbody and think it's just as cool as anything else out there, because I do. But if I were going to try and impress people, I'd get a new flashy car that everyone knows exactly what it is.
