Gathering all info on GEN III, GEN IV , GEN IV
I am new to LS1Tech and was hoping to get some more information to go with the spreadsheet I have attached to help dissect and identify all the year models and variations of the three generations of LS engines since the LS1 in 1999. Please take a look at the information I have gathered after much research on this site and many others. I would love everyone's input and criticism to hopefully come up with a great information piece that could be added to the website or downloaded for everyone to have access to and use. the 1st page is based around the engine codes and the 2nd page based around the head casting numbers. I have also added a snapshot of what it looks like to gain attention.

I didn't look at the entire file but, in taking a quick look at the snapshot posted above, you have the LS1 listed with a starting year of 1998; it was actually 1997 (introduced for first model year of C5.)
Also the LS1 power ratings are not correct. 1997-2000 C5 was 345hp, 1998-2000 F-body was 305hp (320hp SS/WS6), 2001-2004 C5 was 350hp, 2001-2002 F-body was 310hp (325hp SS/WS6.) Of course, those are just the "official" GM ratings (assuming that's what you want for the document), we all know that in reality there is not anything remotely close to a 20hp difference between base SS/WS6 cars and their lower trim level V8 counterparts nor a 40hp difference between C5 and base V8 F-bodies. It's all just a marketing game.
