Default Thinking of buying a Cobalt SS anybody on here have one?

Ok well im keeping the LS1 for those that are wondering, but in order to start my credit im going to do a 1st buyers program on a new car. I got to thinking, i want something sporty, kinda fast, and looks good, and is fairly cheap. So the cobalt SS supercharged came to mind. Well i think i can get one for under 20k also a $500 rebate and ill be putting down bout $4500 cash down with it.

Also i was wondering if anyone on here owns one of these cars, it seems like they would run like prob say an LT1 car from 0-60 but i know what will happen after that. Im not looking for a race car anyways just something that can get out of its own way. If you have a car like this how much is your insurance on it? Also if you've taken it to the track what did it run?

I figured i would ask you guys instead of the stupid ricer forums bc i know how they are , i trust you guys so just let me know TIA

Thanks
B.J.

They seem to be very good DD. I think they run low to mid 14's stock. Thats good enough for a DD.

Go for it!

Ya im in need of a nice DD and i think it will jump start my credit to. Im thinking black or yellow they both look good, im definitely not getting red bc the TA is red. Any ideas on insurance $$$? I just checked on the Cobalt forum and the supercharged version is running low to mid 14's not bad at all and trapping over a 100mph... Way to go Chevy If i get it a smaller pulley will be going on so that away i can maybe break 13's lol

Cobalts aren't LSX-powered.
