In the end as long as it is API, and SAE certified no matter what oil it is, your going to be just fine.
Not true. I used Castro synthetic in my 2003 Cadillac Seville SLS and it sludged up in the engine. You could actually hear the engine sounding like it was sludgy two weeks after the oil change.

My last oil change on the Vette I used Peak motor oil because that's what the garage near by uses. I'm too lazy to change my own in the winter. I have no clue if it was synthetic nor do I care. Car runs just fine. When I change it myself I generally use the cheapest synthetic (which is usually M1). You'll drive yourself nuts going off company claims or Bob the Oil guys site lol. Like posted the most important thing is to use the suggested weight and change it when its due.

Castro synthetic will do that, especially at the two week mark.

M1 or Castrol? M1 doesn't sound sludgy quite like Castrol after two weeks of use.

Optional synthetics package from SLP was Castrol brand:

It was only guaranteed "sludge free" for the first week of operation.
